Advanced Architecture Master UVMS - Subordinates

In order to support a very large number of Dollar Universe nodes (V5 and/or V6), UVMS supports cluster architectures: the subordinate UVMS supports the Dollar Universe nodes, the master UVMS regroups the subordinates UVMS.

UVMS master:

Manages the security, the node views and the alerting rules
Contains all the definitions of all the UVMS subordinate nodes and all the associated Dollar Universe nodes
Manages the node and security synchronization

Subordinate UVMS:

Does not manage the security: The security is inherited from the synchronization with the master UVMS
Does not manage the alerting rules
Contains all the definitions of its own nodes
Only contains the Dollar Universe V6 node definitions of the master UVMS if the subordinate UVMS shares its nodes
Only contains the Dollar Universe V6 node definitions of other subordinate UVMS if it shares their nodes
Responds to synchronization
Must be declared in the master UVMS (via UVC or in command mode). Only one level of master/subordinate is authorized

The configuration of the advanced architecture is performed after the installation of the various UVMS (failover mode or standalone).

On the UVC connected to the (master) UVMS, in the nodes list, declare the subordinates UVMS. Declaring subordinates on an UVMS turns it into a master UVMS. Refer to the Univiewer User Guide, Administration mode > Node > General Section.
